The Bristol B45 chassis (to chassis number ON995 (plus prototypes) were built by Bristol Commercial Vehicles Limited with bodies by Alexander, East Lancs, Eastern Coach Works, Marshall, Northern Counties and Roe. The B45 (built in Brislington) was produced between 1979 and 1984, after which the production was transferred to Workington, Cumbria (ON1001 to ON2645), later to Leyland, Lancashire and finally to Irvine, Ayrshire in 1992 after sale of Leyland to Volvo. A total of 5,581 Olympians were built.
