History
Originally conceived in
about 1965 by brother Kevin (then aged 8) and Paul (then aged 5)
Warrington, who inspired by photographs and stories of their late
grandfather and his brother, both coach drivers, decided that their
ambition was to own and run a coach company.
Kevin spent 25 years in
the computer business before a career break gave the opportunity to fulfill
the life-long ambition. Joining forces with Paul, who had for many
years built up and run one of the largest minibus companies in the area,
the company that was to become Valley Rambler was formed. The
initial plan was to run historic coaches on day hire, for film / TV /
promotional work and weddings. Thoughts on the first vehicle were
mixed - it would either be a Bedford OB, or a Bristol MW. The
Bedford (JAB 867) came first. On this vehicle's first outing under
our ownership, so many people commented on it's name "Valley
Rambler" that it stuck and became the trading name for the
business. Shortly after the OB was acquired, a 1957
"butterfly" SB was added and most recently, a 1958 Bristol
MW6G.
Valley Rambler also
operate modern vehicles, but the same level of customer care and
attention to detail is applied whether for a society wedding using 3 or
4 coaches or a factory contract run using a minibus.
